I began exploring sound healing in the early 1990s. With the goal of incorporating scientifically researched sounds into relaxing music, I presented my idea to Helsinki University. Unfortunately, they were not receptive and threw me out.
However, I was fortunate to connect with Petri Lehikoinen, a leading music therapy instructor at the Sibelius Academy. He immediately believed in my vision and initiated a collaboration. Lehikoinen provided me with a list of researched frequencies, which I used as the foundation for my compositions. The most important was 40Hz, which had been scientifically researched and proven for its usefulness.
After creating musical sketches, I returned them to Lehikoinen for testing with his clients and patients. His feedback was invaluable in refining my music. He also introduced me to the Next Wave vibration chair project, in which he was involved.
Ultimately, I completed my album and found a publisher, Melske Oy. The physical copies sold out quickly, with great feedback from music therapists using the album with their Next Wave chairs. They reported that the music helped clients relax more effectively and even led to visualizations.
